چکیده

Background Neonatal sepsis remains a challenging issue, due to sophisticated and time consuming tests needed confirm diagnosis.
Objective To assess the applicability of neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) platelet (PLR) as diagnostic markers in neonatal sepsis.
Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted Neonatology Ward Kandou General Hospital, Manado, North Sulawesi. Neonates with suspected were included by consecutive sampling. We measured NLR PLR form hematology profiles differential count. Diagnosis based on positive blood cultures. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis done cut-off points. Chi-square test used analyze value PLR.
 Results total 176 full term neonates study. Of these, 84 (47.7%) subjects confirmed 92 (52.3%) non-sepsis. The mean NLRs 5.9 (95%CI 2.0 13.6) group 1.6 0.2 3.2) non-sepsis group. 3.0 determined predictive (sensitivity 94%, speci?city 97.8%, area under ROC 0.995). can effects diagnosis 61% . PLRs 79.9 44.0 155.8) 9.7 91.8) 60.4 86.9%, 87%, 0.928). 47.5%. When combined, they improve accuracy about 72.2%.
Conclusion Neutrophil be combination adjunct for workups.

Eosinopenia and Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as diagnostic tools in neonatal early onset sepsis -a single center observational study

Background and Objective: Neonatal sepsis is associated with high mortality and has a favourable outcome when recognized and treated in a timely manner. In resource-limited settings, there is a need for an affordable test with a short turnaround time for timely diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to find out the role of eosinopenia and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in screenin...

Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and platelet to lymphocyte ratio can predict the severity of gallstone pancreatitis

BACKGROUND Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) predict severity in various diseases. In this study, we evaluated the value of NLR and PLR as prognostic factors in acute pancreatitis (AP). METHODS Patients with AP were prospectively enrolled from March 2014 to September 2016 at Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine. NLR and PLR were obtained at adm...

The aim of this study is to investigate the diagnostic efficacy of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), neutrophil-to-monocyte ratio (NMR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in patients with Crohn's disease (CD) and non-CD controls. These ratios were all derived from complete blood counts. Two hundred and six participants including CD inpatients and non...
